Billi is a 2000 Pakistani Urdu film directed by Syed Noor
Billi is a 2000 Pakistani Urdu film directed by Syed Noor starring Meera, Noor and Saima. This horror film is supposedly based on a true story about a victim turning into a scum-busting Avenger.
Plot: The film opens with a sexy scene where fiery criminal lawyer Meera is being gang-raped to put a rapist behind bars, but sadly for her the judge rules against her and the scumbag is set free. Though the rapist walks free from the law courts of the land, is there a power on earth who can save him from the justice of the “Billi” – a shadowy figure dressed in a black cat-suit who has taken to the streets at night rounding up all scum and sleaze and dishing out her own brand of justice to chilling effect.
There is an earnest police office (Uthba) determined to nab the cat but he doesn’t appear to be making much headway as this cat appears to have at least nine lives. In her brutal quest for justice she doesn’t even spare the lawyer representing the rapist who was basically just doing his job. She corners him one dark, stormy night and hacks off his tongue so he can never twist a case to his benefit as he had done with the rape case. Uthba tries to marry Meera but she manages to castrate him.
Meera looks glamorous and turns in a suitably theatrical performance as the lawyer though she might refrain from using her English too often as her phrases are somewhat bizarre as in when she exclaims “Live Long Billi” when she probably meant “Long Live Billi”….and there is another occasion when she asks Saud if he entered from the “Bal-Konee” where one did a slight double take before realizing exactly what she meant. Sadly after the courtroom opening scene, there isn’t much else for Meera to do as the focus shifts to Noor and Saima’s characters for the rest of the film. The feline superhero rapist bashing Billi becomes a feminist champion and icon for all her deeds and the downtrodden support her wholeheartedly yet the police are embarrassed by its inability to apprehend Billi. Who is she? Where does she come from? What has turned her into the killing machine she is?
Saud has two brothers, one a fine upright journalist (Arbaz Khan) while the younger one is a total wastrel spending all his time boozing, womanizing and listening to really bad late 70’s disco as in Lipps Inc’s horrendous Funky Town! He clearly has some serious issues to grapple with and hangs out in a den of debauchery where such “anarchic” words are sprayed all over the walls and ceiling such as “Snake, Love, Cool, Crazy, Kill and Prince” – almost Mansonesque!
Seasoned veteran Nadeem plays Noor’s sensitive father, a man who has lost his first wife to some accident and who now has to deal with a daughter who is deeply troubled due to a tragedy that befell her when she was an 8 year old child. Noor is also determined to find her father a replacement wife and her primary candidate is a golden hearted village bumpkin Saima. Though Nadeem finds the idea preposterous at first, slowly he begins to warm to Saima’s busty charms and they are soon married.
Twists are revealed in a typically dramatic scenes.
Cast: Saima, Noor, Meera, Saud, Nadeem and Arbaz Khan.
Kyun Tum Say Itna Pyar Hai is a Pakistani Urdu Film
Kyun Tum Say Itna Pyar Hai is a Pakistani Urdu Film starring Veena Malik, Ajab Gul and Arbaz Khan. he makers of this movie are professional people who have made their mark from their previous project Khoaye Ho Tum Kahan in the film industry both within Pakistan and abroad. This film is Directed by Ajab Gul who has a long affiliation with TV, Stage & Film industry in Pakistan. The technical aspect of this film is also very different from previous Lollywood movies.
Plot: Two present-day actors, Javed Shaikh and Ajab Gul, have successfully graduated to direction with the former taking the lead. Shaikh has seven movies to his name, while the recently released Kyun Tum Se Itna Pyar Hai is Gul’s second outing as director. There are also other common factors between the two — both are essentially television products, continue acting in films and are romantically inclined in their approach to film-making. Gul’s Khoey Ho Tum Kahan was a love story. The title of his second film suggests another excursion in the same direction but its romantic content, making a sensational resurgence towards the end, is a thriller with break-neck momentum and exciting action.
A positive aspect of these actors-directors’ work is their stress on quality. While a lot differentiates their films from other local productions, it is the technical value (a constant casualty in Pakistani films) that distinguishes their output. Also, they try to make films for all segments of society and provide wholesome entertainment that can be watched by viewers who have given up on local cinema.
The film starts as a clash between good and evil, a landscape that marks cinema across the world. The pursuits are represented in the film by two individuals who are deeply committed to their way of life. The characters are brilliantly rendered by versatile artists Nadeem and Talat Hussain, with quiet assertiveness by the former and boisterousness and exuberance by the latter.
The families of the two, a former judge (Nadeem) and ex-chief minister (Talat Hussain) are interlinked by nuptials, but do not serve as bonds. Talat is a power-hungry politician who stops at nothing — bribery, killings, abductions — to achieve his goals. He is under investigation and the man in charge of the case is Nadeem’s character, the traditional upstanding citizen and an upholder of values and justice.
The only blemish in Nadeem’s life is two wives, one being Ajab Gul’s mother with whom he has a strained relationship. Police officer Babrak Shah by the other wife is acknowledged as his son and so the stepbrothers have a strong dislike for each other. They also share the love of the same girl (Talat’s daughter played by Veena Malik) whose marriage to Babrak deepens the enmity and a sense of deprivation in Gul.
The first half comprises well-knit, absorbing sequences that keep viewers on the edge of their seats, not only because of twists and turns in the narrative but also by forceful portrayals of characters by the two veteran actors. Talat Hussain adds another laurel to his credentials by effectively casting off the image of being a single dimension artist with pragmatically delivered ruthless villainy.
In a manner of speaking, the two consummate artists make a negative contribution to the film because other than Gul, most players look wanting in comparison. The saving grace in the acting department is the bit roles by some known television and film actors such as Tahira Wasti and Nighat Chaudhry. Gul makes a tremendous and successful effort to match their histrionic talent but it is Babrak Shah, good looking with the right build to play the lead in our films, who has an extremely difficult time. Gul could also have done better by eschewing the Khal Nayak image and at times, gestures.
The second-half of the film is almost pure action, fast-moving and lethal, but in the absence of major progression in the narrative, some footage tends to drag. Fortunately, the director, also the writer, tightens his hold in the end with a highly dramatic climax.
The action and chase sequences have been expertly handled by cinematographer Waqar Bokhari, but could have been more slickly edited. The music has been composed by the writer, director and actor and one wishes he had hired a professional. The dances are well choreographed, but Sana who makes a special appearance could have been given a more sensational wardrobe for her number. Kyun Tum Se Itna Pyar Hai, however, is an action movie, a thriller extraordinary with which conventional entertainment does not gel well.
Cast: Veena Malik, Ajab Gul, Arbaz Khan, Rasheed Naz, Babrak Shah, Asif Khan, Priya and Nadeem.

Plot So Far: Pani Jaisa Piyar is the story of Sana, a 25 year old girl from Faisalabad. She has two older siblings, Hassan and Dua. Sana's family used to be wealthy and of a high social class, but this all went away after the death of her father. The family's only support now is that of Hassan, who quit school at an early age in order to support the family. Sana has been engaged to Adarsh, the son of her mother's best friend Arfa ever since she was a child. Adarsh, however, has been unaware of this engagement, as his parents thought that he needed to focus more on his education than wedding plans.
Adarsh, however, is in love with Sasha, a childhood friend of his. When he tells his parents that he wishes to marry her, they refuse, saying that he is already engaged to Sana and that he will have to leave their home if he doesn't marry her. After much deliberation, Adarsh decides that it would be best to marry Sana, as their is no point in marrying Sasha if they have no home and no money.
Back in Faisalabad, Sana's brother Hassan is taken to prison after getting into a fight with boys from the neighborhood who were making inappropriate remarks towards Sana. Hassan's best friend, Saad, who has no family of his own, takes care of the 2 sisters and their mother in Hassan's absence. Saad has already told Sana that he likes her, but has never done or said anything more on the matter as he knows that she is already engaged. Sana feels uncomfortable in his presence, but her mother, thinking that Saad will stop aiding them, makes Sana spend time with him anyway, as she believes that the only feelings Saad has towards her daughter are brotherly. Saad takes Sana out to dinner one day, and he takes Sana to his house to show her around. Sana refuses at first, but says yes after Saad insists. Saad shows Sana his room, which is decorated with pictures of her, and confesses that he is in love with her. He asks for one night with her, and rapes her when she tries to run away. He takes her back home an hour or two later, telling her that he will withdraw Hassan's court case if she tells anyone, and she complies. When Hassan is acquitted, however, Sana cannot keep the truth in much longer, and tearfully tells him everything. Hassan, in anger, chases Saad to the railway and tracks and chokes him to death, being taken back to jail soon after.
Sana's mother Nuzhat wishes to wed Sana off to Adarsh as soon as possible after this, without telling him or his family about Sana's rape. But Sana tells Adarsh's mother Arfa anyway, knowing that she will break their engagement the second she hears the news. However, Arfa, who is indebted to Nuzhat because she took Arfa's daughter Dua in and raised her as her own so that Arfa could get remarried and live a pleasant life, accepts Sana. She tells Sana that she has told Adarsh everything and that he accepts her as well.
After Sana and Adarsh's wedding, Sana brings the topic up, saying how grateful she is that Adarsh accepted her knowing everything that had happened to her. Adarsh however, is unaware of the circumstances, and flips out when Sana tells him everything. He is furious that his mother tricked him like this, and believes that Sana was not raped at all, but did everything of her own free will. He begins to treat Sana horribly, and restarts his relationship with Sasha, even going so far as to having sexual relations with her. When Sana finds out that she is pregnant, Adarsh denies any possibility that the child is his, and claims that Sana must have an abortion because he doesn't want to take care of her illegitimate child. Sana, not knowing what to after being accused of so many crimes, and still being in the aftershock of the death of her mother hanging of her brother, attempts to commit suicide by overdose of sleeping pills. However, Arfa and Adarsh find her just minutes after the pills take effect and take her to the hospital, and there is no harm done,
Adarsh tells his parents that he wishes to divorce Sana, and they respond by saying that it is not legal for a man to divorce his wife while she is a pregnant. Adarsh retaliates by saying that this doesn't apply to him as the child is not his, and his father is outraged at this accusation. He tells Adarsh to leave the house, and he does, but not before asking that his father ask Arfa what the truth is. Arfa tells him everything, and the father is devastated to hear that he could have had a daughter to take care of all these years.
Adarsh goes to Sasha and tells her that they can get married now that Sana has given him permission. She is furious at these words and demands why Adarsh didn't divorce Sana as planned, and he tells her that she is pregnant and therefore can't be divorced. Sasha, realizing that Adarsh slept with Sana after their wedding despite saying that he was in love with Sasha, kicks him out of her hotel room. He goes back home, and upstairs to his room despite his father's furious demand that he leave the house. Sana, thinking he has gotten re-married asks him whether he's happy now, and Adarsh flies into a fit of rage, beating Sana unconscious. His father pulls him off of her and tells her to leave the house and never come back. They quickly take Sana back to the hospital. then they live happily here after

Aina is a 1977 Pakistani film
Aina is a 1977 Pakistani film directed by Nazr-ul-Islam. Singers are Nayyara Noor, Mehnaz and Alamgir. The film starred Shabnam and Nadeem in the lead roles and holds the distinction for being the longest running Pakistani film on record.
Plot: Aina is a love story of two hearts and two souls but from two different social classes, one being a daughter of a business tycoon i.e. Rita (Shabnam) and one being a realistic, self-confident and a little bit arrogant poor young man (Nadeem). Rita is a leisure girl whereas Nadeem works as a hotel receptionist and they both fall in love. The differences between Nadeem and Rita's father Seth (Rehan) arises right from the beginning, esp. when he (Rita's father) criticised Nadeem for his social status and earning capacity, saying his daughter's sari costs 7,500 rupees as compare to his (Nadeem) monthly salary of 750 rupees. But after a struggle by Rita and a threat to her parents that she would suicide if she would not be allowed to marry Nadeem, her father agreed. So both married but Nadeem knew that Seth was not really happy with this marriage. One day Rita's mother (Bahar) came to her daughter's house, located in a middle class, and offered Nadeem a job in Seth's friend's business firm, which he denied. Not only this, he also angried on Rita about the telephone (which was thought to be a very luxurious item esp. in those days) installed in his house by her. A few days later, Rita's mother purchased furniture for Nadeem's house (perhaps to hurt Nadeem's ego) and invited her guests to a dance party in Nadeem's house. When Nadeem came back home, he became very angry and he asked Rita to leave the house and stay in her father's house. Rita left, with tears, Nadeem's house. Next day, Nadeem got an appointment from a bigger company perhaps from a hotel in Murree, so he has to leave the city immediately. But before leaving the city he tried to meet Rita, but, at the entrance of her house, he met Seth. Seth misinform him that Rita does not want to see his face again and decided to get divorce from him, as she has realised that she has made such a big mistake in marrying a poor man like Nadeem. Shocked and dishearted Nadeem left the city.
On the other side, Rita was waiting for him in the hope that he would come back and take her back to his home. But her father deceived her too that he had visited Nadeem but he insulted him in front of his friends and said that he is going to divorce her. This shocked Rita to such an extent that she could not bear the pain of pregnancy. So they moved to a hospital in the same city where the Nadeem was gone for his new job. During his journey to Murree, a car driver incidentally injured Nadeem. Nadeem moved to the same hospital where Rita was admitted for child delivery. In the hospital's lobby, he found his wife unconscious on the hospital bed, during this Seth interrupted and said that he is going to give away the child to an orphanage, but Nadeem refused to do that and said that he will take care of child himself. The film has taken a very sad turn at that point esp. when Nadeem carrying the baby to his house and singing the sad version of the song Mujhe dil se na bhulana... and remembering those happy days with Rita. On the other side, Seth lied not only to Rita but to his wife (Bahar) also that the baby has died. This was a tremendeous shock for Rita and she somewhat lost her mental balance. After few years the baby is grown up to a teenage boy (Shahzeb), a very sensitive and very anxious about his mother. Whereas, Rita's mental instability grew day by day, so her mother asked Rita's father to let Rita visit her baby's grave which would perhaps help her. Next day all visited (Murree) and searched the graveyard, where they come across the real baby (Shahzeb), who was picking flowers there. As there was nothing to found there, they started leaving the place. During this Shahzeb immediately reached home and asked his father (Nadeem) about the features of his mother, Nadeem hand him over her photo. Shahzeb recognised his mother and ran towards the road where Rita and her parents come from and started singing the same song which he used to listen from his father Mujhe dil se na bhulana... Rita stopped the car and ran towards the place where the voice was coming from and finally she reached Nadeem's house. Amazed by the situation both asked about the divorce, as both were in misunderstanding, the truth revealed that it was Rita's father who had actually planned their separation (not legal divorce) and who had lied to her that her child is dead. Rita turned angriely and slapped her embarrassed father, who was listening this. Her mother said at this moment: 'You have not slapped your father, but you have actually slapped that mentality that believes in differences between poor and rich'. And then they lived happily ever after.

Pakistani 2003 film Larki Punjaban
Larki Punjaban is a 2003 Pakistani film directed by Syed Noor and starring Saima, Shamyl Khan and Babar Ali.
The film's music was scored by the well-regarded composer Zain, who had given a hit soundtrack earlier for Khoey Ho Tum Kahan. The film stirred some controversy in Britain over its portrayal of the Sikh faith, but the furor died down soon after Larki Punjaban was released. The film managed a decent run at most theaters in Pakistan and abroad.
Plot: A simple, love story between a Sikh girl (Saima) and a Muslim boy.
In August 1947 in what was the final cynical act of a collapsing empire, the British left India divided. Arbitrary lines were drawn on the map of India, dividing not only the country but also provinces, in particular Punjab. The results of partition were catastrophic. All in the name of religion and nationalism people who had lived together in harmony for centuries committed mindless acts of violence against each other. All the blood spilt could not extinguish the fire of hate burning in their hearts of the people, resulting in over one million, Sikhs, Muslims and Hindus being butchered to death. An estimated 75,000 women were raped and over twelve million people were uprooted, Hindus and Sikhs to India and Muslims to Pakistan.
During these troubled times, there were select few who did not give in to the acts of barbarism. One such person was a young Muslim man who refused to participate in the fires of hate and destruction burning around him. During the hostilities he found a young Sikh girl who had been separated from her family. Risking the anger of the mobs, he brought her home and offered her sanctuary. As the fires of hate began to burn out, families began to come to terms with their loss of the loved ones on both sides. Those who could not be found were presumed dead. The young girl was touched by the way he had protected her against the ruthless mobs, risking his own life. They fell in love. She converted to Islam and they married.
Years passed on, a dying grandmother herself her last wish, to meet her family, back in India. Having made some enquires, she discovered that her family had migrated to Chandigarh, India. Knowing her family would disown her if they discovered that she had converted to Islam, she contacted her sister, pretending to be a long lost Muslim friend and invited her and her family to Lahore for religious pilgrimage to 'Nankana Sahib' a highly revered Sikh Temple, where millions of Sikhs travel visit every year.
The family came to Lahore where the two sisters lived together as friends, not knowing about their real relationship. During their stay with the Muslim family, history began to repeat itself. Preetam, daughter of the Sikh family started to get friendly with Shamil Khan, the son of the Muslim family. When the Sikh family discovered that a relationship was blossoming, they quickly returned to Chandigarh, however, the young couple kept in touch on the telephone and the Internet and their love grew stronger.
The hate amongst their elders and religious differences would never let them be together. Physically they were kept apart by their families and the vast distance between them, but their hearts were together as their love for each other grew.
Preetam's family realizing the potential problems send her off to Malaysia to marry her fiancée. Shamil is heart broken at suddenly losing contact with Preetam. Shamil's family watching his despair persuade him to travel to Malaysia to complete his education.
As fate would have it, Shamil sees Preetam in Kuala Lumpur, only few days before she is due to marry, what can they do? run away together and face the wrath of their families ? Or accept the decision of their elders and sacrifice their love for each other? Can their love which never recognised, religious or cultural barriers survive the pressures of culture, tradition, inbred hatred and religion of their elders? As in fables, will love conquer all or will the harsh realities of life suffocate the young lovers into submission?
Cast: Babar Ali, Saima, Shamyl Khan, Rashid Mahmood, Rasheed Naz, Tariq Shah, Azhar Rangeela, Bahar Begum, Naghma Begum and Habib.
